The Red Seal Program is a Canadian standard of excellence for skilled trades, developed by the government in partnership with provinces and territories. Tradespeople who meet the Red Seal standards receive a Red Seal endorsement on their provincial/territorial trade certificates. At last count, the program included 55 different trades, such as hands-on occupations. To become red-seal endorsed, tradespersons will need to take a multiple-choice exam administered in the province or territory they intend to live and work in.
